Privacy policy

Last updated 7 September 2026. This page describes what Shine Above Window Cleaning actually does with the information you give it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

Who this is

Shine Above Window Cleaning is a window and gutter cleaning business operated by Nick in Charleston, South Carolina. It works from a vehicle across the Lowcountry and has no retail premises. Questions about anything on this page go to shineabove6@gmail.com or (843) 277-5287.

What is collected, and why

Only what is needed to quote a job and turn up to do it:

• Your name, phone number and email address — so a quote can be sent and an appointment confirmed.
• Your property address and details about it — the number of windows, how many stories, whether screens and tracks are wanted. This is what the price is calculated from.
• What you write in the message box — access notes, awkward windows, anything you choose to mention.

Nothing is collected that is not on that list. There is no account to create, no password to store, and no payment card details are taken through this website.

What it is used for

Quoting your work, scheduling it, doing it, and getting back to you about it. That is the whole of it.

Your information is not sold, not rented, and not passed to anyone who wants to market to you.

Text messages

If you give a mobile number and agree to it, Shine Above may text you about your work — confirming an appointment, reminding you the day before, or following up on a quote you asked for. Where you have separately agreed to it, you may also receive occasional seasonal offers.

Agreeing to service messages and agreeing to offers are two separate choices. Consent to either is never a condition of getting a quote or having work done, and you can decline both and still be a customer.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages; you will get one confirmation that it worked, and nothing after that.

No mobile information is sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties.

Who else sees it

A small number of services are used to actually run the business, and they see only what they need to do their part:

• The company that hosts this website and receives the quote form.
• The email service that delivers a quote to you.
• The messaging service that carries a text message, if you have agreed to receive one.
• Invoicing software, for the customers who are invoiced.

Each of these is a supplier acting on Shine Above’s instructions. None of them is given your information to use for their own marketing, and none of them is paid for your data.

Information may also be disclosed where the law requires it. That has not happened, and if it ever does you will be told unless the law forbids it.

How long it is kept

Quote requests that do not turn into work are kept for 12 months, so that a follow-up conversation makes sense. Records for work that was actually done are kept for five years, because that is how long a business is expected to be able to answer questions about a job it did and payments it took.

Where you have consented to text messages, the record of that consent — what you were shown, what you agreed to, and when — is kept for five years from the last message sent. That record exists to prove your permission was properly obtained, which is a protection for you as much as an obligation on Shine Above.

Having your information deleted

Email shineabove6@gmail.com and ask. It will be deleted, and you will get a reply confirming it was done rather than an acknowledgement that it was requested.

Two things survive a deletion request and it is fairer to say so than to discover it later: records of completed work and payment, which have to be kept for the period above, and the record of a text-message opt-out, which has to be kept precisely so you are not contacted again by mistake.

Children

This is a service sold to property owners and occupiers. It is not directed at children and no information is knowingly collected from anyone under 13.

Changes to this page

If what Shine Above does changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top changes too. A policy describing less than the business actually does would be worse than no policy at all.
